black & white previews
All colour images are also available as black & white prints. The b&w previews offered here are produced by simply desaturating the image via Javascript. The result is a neutral b&w preview which may appear flat or too dark/bright. Before printing, however, each image is individually assessed and adjusted for best contrast, tonal quality, and dynamic range.

Architectural mix around Stephansdom cathedral
St. Stephen's Cathedral (German: Stephansdom) is the mother church of the Archdiocese of Vienna and the seat of the Archbishop of Vienna. Its current Romanesque and Gothic form was largely initiated by Rudolf IV and stands on the ruins of two earlier churches, the first being a parish church consecrated in 1147.
