black & white previews
All colour images are also available as black & white prints. The b&w previews offered here are produced by simply desaturating the image via Javascript. The result is a neutral b&w preview which may appear flat or too dark/bright. Before printing, however, each image is individually assessed and adjusted for best contrast, tonal quality, and dynamic range.

Vienna Naschmarkt nuts and dried fruit
Vienna Naschmarkt nuts and dried fruit
The Naschmarkt is Vienna's most popular market and has existed since the 16th century when mainly milk bottles were sold. From 1793 onwards, all fruits and vegetables brought to Vienna with carts had to be sold here, while goods arriving on the Danube were sold elsewhere. Nowadays, the market sells everything from fresh fish, Palatschinken, herbs, cheese, exotic fruit and spices or Japanese sushi.
