All colour images are also available as black & white prints. The b&w previews offered here are produced by simply desaturating the image via Javascript. The result is a neutral b&w preview which may appear flat or too dark/bright. Before printing, however, each image is individually assessed and adjusted for best contrast, tonal quality, and dynamic range.
Haeinsa temple
With images from the Haeinsa temple complex. Built in 802, Haeinsa is an important buddhist temple of the Jogye Order located in the Gaya Mountains. Since 1398 it houses the Tripitaka Koreana, the entirety of Buddhist Scriptures carved onto over 81,000 wooden printing blocks.
