All colour images are also available as black & white prints. The b&w previews offered here are produced by simply desaturating the image via Javascript. The result is a neutral b&w preview which may appear flat or too dark/bright. Before printing, however, each image is individually assessed and adjusted for best contrast, tonal quality, and dynamic range.
Bilbao
With images from the city of Bilbao, capital of the province of Biscay, in the autonomous community of the Basque Country. Since its foundation in the early 14th century, Bilbao was a commercial hub and important port exporting iron. Throughout the nineteenth century and beginnings of the twentieth, Bilbao experienced heavy industrialization that made it the centre of the second industrialized region of Spain, behind Barcelona.
